We had a chance to get out and take a walk/hike today, on the trails of Hidden Hills. It was a lovely cool day and we were so grateful to be out of the house for a few hours. We feel blessed to have our health, each other and to live in a beautiful community where such walks are possible. Even amidst all the chaos, fear and devastation of the Coronavirus, we are trying to see the silver lining in the dark clouds, whenever possible. We have many, many difficult moments during our day, which is not surprising, given there is only one parent caring for four children, all of whom are house-bound, indefinitely. Fuses are short, voices get raised and there is a lot of whining! Nevertheless, each night at dinner we talk about the best moments during the day and even give everyone a chance to mention the bad moments, if they feel like it. It’s all part of getting through this time. We have also been meeting lots of neighbors we never knew we had, when out on our walks. Everyone we encounter is friendly and caring, which feels really nice. Each day, we are trying to get better at this “new normal.” We are not very far along on our learning curve, but everyday we make a bit of progress. We hope that you are finding your silver lining in the dark clouds; that you and your family are staying healthy and that your learning curve is not too steep. We’ll keep you posted on how we’re coming along and would love to hear about how you’re doing as well……..
